What gets in the way of your Gratitude?

You know you should be grateful. If you are reading this blog you probably have:

  • A roof over your head

  • Food to eat

  • A warm, dry bed

  • An honest way to support your needs and some of your wants

  • Clean, comfortable clothes to wear

  • Safe drinking water

All of these are things that you can be grateful for everyday, and we haven’t even listed family and friends. This gives you even more to be grateful for.

So what keeps you from being grateful?

Is it greed or envy?

Is it ego?

Is it clinging to the past?

Is it fear of the future?

Any and all of these can affect your ability to practice gratitude. You should be grateful for this challenge. It is part of your yoga journey.

All journeys have obstacles, challenges, roadblocks and unexpected delays. That is part of the journey process. Struggling with being grateful is part of your path.

Are you grateful that you can feel your breath?

– if not then be grateful that you’re breathing.

Are you grateful that you do not live in a war zone?

– if not be safe wherever you may be.

Are you grateful that you have a way to make a living?

– If not be grateful for the time that you have to find a new way to make a living.

No matter what is going on at this stage of your life, you can find at least 5 things to be grateful for.
