30 Ways to Honor World Environment Day (Thru Your Yoga Practice)

Yoga is all about union. Union with:

  • Others

  • The World Around You (WAY)

  • Your Self

World Environment Day is a great day to continue your practice of Ahimsa, Non-Harming, as you recognize the value of fresh air, clean water and unpolluted land.Your awareness of the world around you will improve as you travel along your yoga journey.

You can honor the Earth and all its majesty, power and beauty while growing on your yoga journey:

  1. Go for a nature walk.

  2. Stand outside after it rains and breathe in the fresh, ionized air - breathe deep.

  3. Plant a garden.

  4. Volunteer at a community garden.

  5. Buy produce from a local farmer.

  6. Buy local honey made from local bees.

  7. Learn about an environmental issue in your community.

  8. Become active in an environmental organization in your community.

  9. Learn about the impacts of climate change and extreme weather in your community.

  10. Reduce your use of disposable plastics.

  11. Make natural cleaners and scrubs to do routing cleaning.

  12. Support your state parks.

  13. Stand outside in Mountain Pose (Tadasana) - breathe and relax.
